This painting was born from stillness—from a moment of deep breath at the edge of everything.

A dark cliff rises from the rainforest, its presence strong, unmoving, almost eternal.

Yet cascading down its surface are wild lavender blooms, soft and luminous against the stone.

This balance between strength and gentleness speaks to something I often feel while painting:

that beauty doesn’t just exist in lushness and light—it grows in the cracks, along the edges, and within silence.

Lavender has long been known for its calming, healing energy.

To me, this cliff is like the mind in meditation—solid, quiet, and still—while the lavender is the soft grace that comes when we surrender.

This work is a reminder: sometimes our most beautiful growth happens not in the centre, but at the edge of what we think we know.
