The nest is alive with movement as parents feed and protect their young. Wisdom is passed silently, instinctively. Parents feel reborn to relive. This work honours nurture, responsibility, and the invisible exchange of knowledge that ensures survival beyond oneself.
"A baby makes love stronger, the days shorter, the nights longer, savings smaller, and a home happier" — Unknown.
In this collection of five paintings, artist Priya Gore pays tribute to the common sparrow — a bird often overlooked, yet profoundly essential to life on Earth. Through the sparrow, the series speaks for all seemingly insignificant species whose quiet presence sustains ecological balance.
The work draws inspiration from a historical moment when sparrows were declared pests and systematically eradicated, triggering ecological collapse, crop devastation, and famine that claimed millions of human lives. This series stands as a gentle but powerful reminder: no life is insignificant.
Using a restrained palette and white floral species, Gore traces the cyclical journey of life—from union and creation to nurturing, release, and return. Each painting captures a phase of existence, celebrating its beauty, purpose, and interconnectedness. Created in her studio space in Da Nang, Vietnam this body of work marks a bold and intimate chapter in the artist’s practice—one of focus, courage, and deep ecological reverence.
