The first snowfall I experienced in Chicago has been permanently engraved in my memory. Although, during my 5 years in United States; I kept on sharing stories of every single winter sufferings; but in hindsight I have got some wonderful memories of the snowfalls, the ski trips and the snow fields. I still remember my first day in Chicago having a cuppa with my roomie looking at the sunrise and the snowfall. Looking at the golden sunlit fresh fluffy snow; we went so far down the road with our discussion sharing our future aspirations and dreams .
Its simply amazing where life takes you through the journey and I never thought 12 years down the line I will become a worldwide collected artist in Australia and will get to pay tribute to those snow fields. What United States gave me is “ the true independence”, “the foundation” which made me strong to face any challenges set on my path. When I moved to Australia I fell in love with the new country, I could get the jobs I loved, I could explore Australia and travel the world the way I never ever dreamt about and eventually forgot that the land who made me this fearless person I am today was actually the land of the snow fields, the storms and the harsh winters.
This painting represents that golden time in our lives when we have nothing but our dreams, we jump even though we know we don’t have a parachute, the times when there is so much uncertainty ahead and still one can’t be more sure of oneself!
This painting pays tribute to those winter willows and grasses, those snow fields and storms, those shooting far the stars aspirations you share with your friends which never seem feasible at the time.
Cheers to the uncertainty, to the adventure, to the gratitude in our hearts which we often forget to express! My art always reverberates with inspirational quotes and one of the The beautiful quotes by actress Lupita Nyong'o reflects through this artwork - “No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid.”
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”
– Christopher Reeve“I have often had a retrospective vision where everything in my past life seems to fall with significance into logical sequence.”
― Ansel AdamsThe artwork comes with a beautiful gold timber float frame.
